Youngsters hangin' by the faux river surrounded by pink balloons, umbrellas and ribbons.
October is breast cancer awareness month all over the world. For 25 years, this campaign has promoted breast cancer awareness with incredible results; Who out there doesn't, now, know the home method for diagnosing breast cancer is to check for lumps in small circular patterns?
Pink umbrellas against the downtown office buildings.
Just beyond the right-most balloon, there is a small stand giving away free pink cotton candy. Well done breast cancer awareness folks. The quickest way to get a Korean's attention is to give away free stuff. For a country as wealthy as this, stinging memories of relatively recent poverty aren't easily lost, particularly on the elderly, including me. The Korea of my youth was underdeveloped and lacking in most facilities and infrastructure. As a result, I, too, understand the lure of a free giveaway. Do I really need to greedily double fist 3 cones of cotton candy? If it's free, the answer is yes.

Hi Pius, I've just recently discovered your site. I very rarely comment on websites/blogs I follow. However, after being obsessed with your pictures since I found your site, I had to comment to let you know how much I enjoy your work. Your passion is very evident and I enjoy how you write descriptions for your photos... your descriptions help me understand each photo and imagine myself there. Being a travel enthusiast, I dream and am taken into a different world when reviewing your pictures. Keep up the great work and I hope you are enjoying your time off! - Kiran
