A tilted view of the Cathedral of Our Lady from the Scheldt River.
I tend to stray away from tilted compositions unless the situation absolutely calls for it. I wanted to compress the foreground and background elements so for a telephoto lens to squeeze the entire cathedral and old buildings into the frame, I was forced to tilt.
A local on a bicycle snaps a quick photo of the Cathedral of Our Lady from the Scheldt River belvedere.
The hordes of people walking around in the photo are passengers of a massive cruise ship docked in Antwerp for the day. It's still relatively cold in Antwerp so the streets remain mostly tranquil and tourist-free - unless an overpriced cruise-ship floats into town. The tourist office informs me that the peak season for street-clogging tourism begins around mid-May, only a few weeks away. Whoa is me.
