A rarely photographed perspective of the Sphinx's (renovated) rear end.
Looks like the Egyptians are going the Chinese route vis-a-vis restoration to the point of renewed construction employing space-aged technology. If you've been to the restored Badaling section of the Great Wall of China, you should know exactly what I'm talking about. During my first trip to the Sphinx, the rear looked nothing like this and for certain, it wasn't this smooth. Soon enough, you'll be seeing neon lights and billboards advertising Mahmoud's Papyrus Shop directly above the head of the Sphinx.
A rare glimpse of the metropolis seen daily by the Sphinx.
At Daily Travel Photos, we attempt to enlighten as well as show you things from a different perspective, despite suffering through high fever and flu-like symptoms associated with another attack of gout.
Enjoy your weekends folks and pray that, enshallah, my gout retreats soon!

Pius, sorry to hear that you're not doing well again. Hope you have a quick recovery, and get back out shooting again. I'm planning my trip to India, after new years, trying to figure out where to stay in Delhi, Agra, etc.
Your blog is wonderfull! I have discovered it yesterday and already make it trough almost 2 years of your phototravel. Thank you for this. I will put it in my favorits and recomend it to all my friends. Good luck!
PS: I am from Romania.
@Jeff, No worries for me. I'm a survivor!
@Lili, Thanks so much! You wouldn't believe how much feedback like that means to me. Even though traffic numbers are getting respectable, because few people write such nice comments like yours, sometimes, it feels like I'm putting up photos that nobody's looking at. Hopefully I'll come by Romania some day and cover the country with my photoblog!
