A discrete glass recycling collection center in downtown Antwerp (ARCHIVED PHOTO on the weekends - originally photographed 2010/04/10).
The government's - and by extension, the people's - commitment to recycling in Europe is unparalleled. In Antwerp, the recycling infrastructure is built directly into public streets. Clear glass is dropped down the tube on the left while colored glass is deposited on the right. Best of all, the underground container avoids being an eyesore like one that would sit all day above ground like a garbage dumpster.
For those that tuned in for Matsu island photos, stay tuned. The Taiwan series will continue on Monday!
