Qinbi (pronounced "chin-bee") village is the jewel in the tourism crown of the Matsu islands. A cluster of immaculately restored local architecture in a Fujian style, Qinbi is a must-see for any tourist that visits Matsu islands. Qinbi is reminiscent of the beautifully set villages along the Amalfi coast of Italy, minus the tourist hordes and overpriced espressos.

Many of these stone Fujian-style houses serve as guesthouses for visitors. Rather unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to stay in this village overnight but I can only imagine the quiet and beauty of the village when all day-trippers have gone home and there is nary a soul around.

As mentioned earlier, the government is heavily promoting tourism to this area hence some renovation projects are visible in the village. Don't let that stop you from visiting though. The village is fully open and operational now.
